Covenants – What Covenants apply to you?
A covenant is a promise or agreement between two or more parties, often under seal or guarantee, that specifies certain activities that will or will not be carried out. Covenants can have different meanings in different contexts. Covenants are formal arrangements between God and people or groups, such as the Noahic Covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant, and the Sinaitic Covenant. Each covenant establishes the basis of a relationship, including promises, conditions, and consequences.
One of the Covenants, the Sinaitic Covenant, is conditional in nature. That is, this covenant will bring either Blessings or Curses depending on Israel’s obedience or disobedience.
The Land Covenant was made when Israel was in Moab, waiting to go into the Promised Land. It reiterates and renews the Abrahamic covenant, which was made long before, and in which God Gave his word to give the Promised Land to His people.
As we go through each covenant, we will see which ones are conditional, which are unconditional, and what are the conditions and terms for each one. What are the Blessings and the Curses attached to each covenant agreement are.
- Edenic Covenant
- Adamic Covenant
- Noahic Covenant
- Abrahamic Covenant
- Horeb Covenant
- Sinaitic Covenant
- Covenant of Salt
- Land Covenant
- Sabbath Covenant
- New ( Millennial ) Covenant

The Edenic Covenant is the covenant that God made with Adam in the Garden of Eden. This was the first covenant God made with man but it was not explicitly called a covenant; however, it is later referred to as a covenant in Hosea 6:7, “But like Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt treacherously with Me”.
Genesis 2:15–17
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
The Edenic Covenant is an example of a conditional covenant because Adam was required to obey the terms of the covenant in order to not suffer the consequences of breaking it.
The terms were not to eat from
“the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”.
In this Covenant, God promises Adam life and blessing, but that promise is conditional upon Adam’s obedience to God’s command not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s penalty for disobedience would be physical and spiritual death as well as a curse on the ground so that Adam would have to work harder to grow crops. One of the results of Adam’s sin was that he would have to toil all of his days until his death.
Adam’s sin broke this conditional covenant with God and left man in a fallen state, but God would soon make a second, unconditional covenant of redemption with Adam and Eve.

This is the first announcement of the gospel in Scripture. God’s promise to Eve that the seed of the Serpent would bruise the heel of the seed of Eve and the seed of Eve would bruise the head of the seed of the serpent. This is the foretelling that Satan would wound Yeshua with the crucifixion, but that Yeshua would triumph over Satan. The covenant was sealed with blood, as God clothed Adam and Eve with the skins of animals, which had to be killed for that purpose.
Genesis 3:15
“and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Promises
Mankind ( Male and Female ) created in God’s image.
Mankind’s dominion ( rule ) over the animal kingdom.
Divine directive for mankind to reproduce and inhabit the entire Earth.
Eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil forbidden ( with death as the stated penalty ).

Curses
Enmity between Satan and Eve and her descendants.
Painful childbirth for women.
The soil cursed.
Introduction of thorns and thistles.
Survival to be a struggle.
Death introduced.
Death will be the inescapable fate of all living things.

Because Noah obeyed God’s voice and instructions of building the Ark, bringing the animals onto the Ark TWO of every UNCLEAN, and SEVEN of every CLEAN as a good source. God made a Covenant and attached a Promise to it. This is the first of the Covenants of Promise. Sealed with blood, an offering made with clean animals after he stepped off the Ark.
Genesis 6:18–22
“But with thee will I establish my COVENANT; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
Genesis 7:2
“Of every CLEAN beast thou shalt take to thee by SEVENS, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not CLEAN by TWO, the male and his female.”
Genesis 8:20
“And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.”
2 Peter3:5–10
“For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
Isaiah 66:16–17
“For by 🔥FIRE🔥 and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, 🐷eating swine’s flesh🐷, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.”

Holy Covenant
God promises Abraham a large family that will inherit land in Canaan. This is the second of the two Covenants of Promise confirmed with the blood of clean animals as seen here:
Genesis 15:9–10
“And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.”
Genesis 15:18
“In the same day the LORD made a COVENANT with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:”
Genesis 17:1–9
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my COVENANT between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my COVENANT between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.”
Genesis 17:15–21
“And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.”
Genesis 21:9–13
“And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be ✨grievous✨ in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy ✨bondwoman✨; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.”
Acts 7:17
“But when the time of the PROMISE drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,”
____________________________
The covenant is significant because it: Sets Israel apart as God’s chosen people and promises to make Israel “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation“. This is where Abraham’s Promise starts to come to fruition for his seed to inherit the land, a verbal agreement to the Holy Covenant God was about to write with his own finger on two tables of stone.
Rock at Horeb
Exodus 17:1–3
“And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”
Exodus 17:5–6
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the ROCK in HOREB; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
1 Corinthians10:3–4
“and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual ROCK that followed them: and that ROCK was Christ.”
John 4:14
“but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Psalm 105:41–42
“He opened the ROCK, and the waters gushed out; They ran in the dry places like a river. For he remembered his HOLY PROMISE, And ABRAHAM his servant.”
1 Corinthians10:2–4
“and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
Exodus 19:5–9
“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my ✨COVENANT✨, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: and ye shall be unto me a KINGDOM OF PRIESTS, and an HOLY NATION. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him. And all the ✨people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do✨. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.”

The Sinaitic Covenant is the most confusing out of all of the covenants. Gods intention was to give us the Holy Covenant which is the 10 Commandments. But just as Adam transgressed the one simple command he had, the Israelites transgressed as Moses was getting the Covenant Tablets from the the top of Mount Sinai. When he came down and seen the transgression of the Israelites he broke the two tables of stone, had to have them remade by God but this time additional terms were added to the original Covenant as punishment. This is the Sacrificial Law, Aaron and his sons were ordained as priests to teach and minister the commandments, statutes, and ordinances to the Israelites as apart of this covenant.
between the Israelites and God.
God calls Moses up to the top of Mount Sinai and gives him the covenant to share with the Israelites.
The covenant is a set of laws that cover many aspects of life in ancient Israel, including:
- Animal Control
- Morality
- Tithing
- Holy Convocations
- Duties of the priesthood
- Burnt Offerings, Grain Offerings, Peace Offerings, Purification Offerings, and Guilt Offerings.

The phrase “Covenant of Salt” appears twice in the Bible, in the Book of Numbers and the second book of Chronicles. In both instances, it refers to a covenant between God and a certain group of people:
Salt has been used in many cultures to express promises and friendship, and its symbolism of allegiance reaches into the relation of the people to God.
Numbers 18:19–21
“All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a COVENANT of SALT for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel. And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.”
2 Chronicles13:5
“ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a
COVENANT of SALT?”
Matthew 5:13–16
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Priestly Covenant
God tells Moses that he is giving Phinehas and his descendants a permanent right to the priesthood because Phinehas purified the Israelites and made them right with God. The verse also says that the covenant is because Phinehas was zealous for God and made atonement for the Israelites. This is said to be “a covenant of an everlasting priesthood.”
Numbers 25:11–13
“Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my
COVENANT of PEACE: and he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the COVENANT of an everlasting PRIESTHOOD; because he was zealous for his God, and made an ATONEMENT for the children of Israel.”
Isaiah 54:10
“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the COVENANT of my PEACE be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.”
Ezekiel 37:26
“Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.”
Sirach 45:1-26
6
He also raised up, like Moses in holiness, his brother AARON, of the tribe of Levi
7
He made his office perpetual and bestowed on him priesthood for his people; He established him in honor
and crowned him with lofty majesty.
8
He clothed him in splendid garments,
and adorned him with glorious vestments:
( Descriptions – Priestly Garments )
13
Before him, no one had been adorned with these, nor may they ever be worn by any other Except his sons and them alone, generation after generation, for all time.
14
His grain offering is wholly burnt as an established offering twice each day;
15
For Moses ordained him and anointed him with the holy oil, In a lasting covenant with him and his family, as permanent as the heavens,
That he should serve God in the priesthood and bless the people in his name.
16
He chose him from all the living to sacrifice burnt offerings and choice portions, To burn incense, sweet odor as a memorial, and to atone for the people of Israel.
17
He gave to him the laws, and authority to prescribe and to judge:
To teach precepts to the people, and judgments to the Israelites.
18
Strangers rose in anger against him,
grew jealous of him in the desert—
The followers of Dathan and Abiram,
and the band of Korah in their defiance.
19
When the LORD saw this he became angry, and destroyed them in his burning wrath. He brought against them a marvel,
and consumed them in flaming fire.
20
Then he increased the glory of Aaron and bestowed upon him his inheritance: The sacred offerings he allotted to him, with the showbread* as his portion;
21
The oblations of the LORD are his food, a gift to him and his descendants.
22
But he holds no land among the people nor shares with them their heritage;
For the LORD himself is his portion and inheritance among the Israelites.
23
PHINEHAS too, the son of Eleazar,
was the courageous third of his line
When, zealous for the God of all,
he met the crisis of his people
And, at the prompting of his noble heart, atoned for the children of Israel.
24
Therefore, on him also God conferred the right, in a covenant of friendship, to provide for the sanctuary, So that he and his descendants should possess the high priesthood forever.
25
For even his covenant with David,
the son of Jesse of the tribe of Judah,
Was an individual heritage through one son alone;i but the heritage of Aaron is for all his descendants.
So now bless the LORD who has crowned you with glory!
26
May he grant you wisdom of heart
to govern his people in justice,
Lest the benefits you confer should be forgotten, or your authority, throughout all time.

This covenant is also called the Land Covenant because many of the promises relate to Israel’s possession of the land. God made this covenant with Israel after the Mosaic Covenant and after Israel had wandered in the wilderness for forty years. God made this covenant with Israel while they were in Moab waiting to go into the Promised Land, and the covenant would serve this new generation of Israelites as a reminder of their special covenant relationship with God.
Deuteronomy 29:1
“These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the
land of MOAB, BESIDE the COVENANT which he made with them in HOREB.”
Joshua 1:3–4
“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.”
The covenant confirms features of the Abrahamic Covenant, which is made in Genesis 12:1-3. In this covenant, God promises to protect and give land to Abraham and his descendants if they follow God’s path. God also commands Abraham and his descendants to perform the ritual of circumcision as a symbol of the covenant
The Land Covenant, recorded in Deuteronomy 29 and 30 and is closely related to the Mosaic covenant, and an extension of the Abrahamic covenant. It is similar to the Mosaic covenant in that it concerns Israel’s entry into the Promised Land, but it is dissimilar in that the Mosaic covenant was conditional and bilateral, meaning that God’s blessings depended on Israel’s obedience. The Palestinian covenant, on the other hand, is unconditional and unilateral—it focuses on what God promises to do for Israel, regardless of their obedience.
Deuteronomy 6:1–10
“Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
Leviticus 26:9
“For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my COVENANT with you.”

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Ezekiel 36:24–26
“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
Revelation 19:7–9
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. Instructions for
Bill of Divorcement
Deuteronomy 24:1–4
“When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.”

Leviticus 26:14–17
“But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall ✨CONSUME the EYES✨, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only. And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them; until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets.
So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.”

Revelation 21:1–5
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
Revelation 21:7–8
“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Revelation 22:14
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

The concept of covenants has been very important throughout the scriptures, Christians divide the Bible into the Old and New Testaments, or Old and New Covenants, based on tradition…
What Most do not understand what Yeshua came to do. The word “NEW” should be properly translated as “FRESH”.
As prophesied, the “REFRESHING” of the Holy Covenant would come but they won’t hear it.
G2537 – New ( Testament )
καινός
kainos
kahee-nos’
Of uncertain affinity; NEW (especially in ✨FRESHNESS✨; while G3501 is properly so with respect to age): – new.
– – From Root – –
G3501 – New ( Testament )
νέος, νεώτερος
neos neōteros
neh’-os, neh-o’-ter-os
A primary word, including the comparative (second form); “new”, that is, (of persons) youthful, or (of things) ✨FRESH✨; figuratively REGENERATE: – new, young.

REFRESHING OF THE COVENANT
Which Covenant?
Luke 1:72–73
“To perform the MERCY promised to our fathers, And to remember his ✨HOLY COVENANT✨; The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,”
John 8:39
“They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.”
End times Prophecy
Daniel 11:28
“Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the ✨HOLY COVENANT; ✨and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.”
Daniel 11:30–31
“For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the
✨HOLY COVENANT✨: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the ✨HOLY COVENANT✨. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.”
It was prophesied here he would Refresh the Holy Covenant
Isaiah 28:12
“To whom he said, This is the REST wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the ✨REFRESHING✨: yet they would not hear.”
Acts 3:19–21
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the
✨TIMES OF REFRESHING✨ shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”
Acts 3:22–25
“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from ✨Samuel✨ and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the ✨COVENANT which God made with our fathers✨, saying unto ✨ABRAHAM✨, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.”
– – Acts 3 is quoting – –
Deuteronomy 18:15–19
“The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a ✨Prophet✨ from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; according to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in ✨HOREB✨ in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a ✨Prophet✨ from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in MY NAME, I will require it of him.”
Malachi 4:4–6
“Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in ✨HOREB✨ for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Matthew 3:1–3
“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judæa, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.”
Mount Horeb
Psalm 78:35
“And they remembered that God was their rock, And the high God their redeemer.”
Matthew 7:24–27
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
