Serpent Seed
”The Serpent’s Seed doctrine is an improper interpretation of Genesis 3 that is allegorical and arbitrary.
Eve’s sin was NOT sexual.
She partook of literal fruit from a literal tree. Adam also partook of the same fruit as Eve ( Genesis 3:6 ). This is not a reference to sexual sin. The Serpent Seed doctrine artificially limits the atonement by race or genetics. Yeshua died for the whole world ( 1 John 2:2 ). His atonement is not limited to a certain family or race of people.
The primary passage used to support the Serpent Seed Doctrine is Genesis 3:15, where Yehovah pronounces judgment on the serpent, stating that the seed of the woman would bruise the serpent’s head. However, this is a prophetic foreshadowing of Yeshua’s victory over Satan, not a reference to a biological lineage.

- Was Cain a Nephilim? You would think that there would be mention of Nephilim were brought into the world 5 generations too early.

- Satan was not locked away because he was the only one not to take a wife. The Watcher Angels were locked away for such actions why would Satan be any different? If God were to judge him differently he would not be a just God.

The serpent seed teaching comes in several different forms. William M. Branham (1909–1965), Arnold Murray (1929–2014), Wesley A. Swift (1913–1970), and Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012) played important roles in spreading different versions of the doctrine among members of their respective groups throughout the 20th century. Around the world, there are millions of adherents of the serpent seed doctrine within Branhamism and the Unification Church. In 2000, there were an estimated 50,000 adherents of it within Christian Identity. The Anti-Defamation League and various Christian apologetics organizations have denounced racist versions of the serpent seed teaching by claiming that they are incompatible with the teachings of traditional Christianity, and they have accused their promoters of exacerbating racial divisions by spreading hate.
The Serpent’s Seed doctrine did not originate with Branham. Branham’s version of the doctrine parallels the racist views of some groups within the Identity movement and the speculative philosophies of Sun Myung Moon.
In light of claims that Branham was God’s end-time prophet, it is significant that he falsely predicted that America would be destroyed in 1977 ( The Seven Church Ages, p. 322 ). Branham was guilty of false prophecy ( Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ). While he tried to call it a prediction rather than a prophecy ( without explaining the difference ), he firmly stressed that the 1977 date was based on his thirty year study of the Bible and “Divine inspiration.” Branham’s ministry and claims were supported by alleged supernatural verification. Signs and wonders, however, are not infallible proofs. Many conflicting sects and ideologies boast similar subjective “proofs” ( 2 Thessalonians 2:9, Matthew 12:39, 24:24, Hebrews 1:1, I John 4:1-3 ).”
Irenaeus ( c. 180 ), an Early Church Father, condemned the notion of original sin as adultery between Eve and the serpent in his book Against Heresies as a ‘Gnostic Heresy ( possibly espoused by Valentinus ( 100–160 ) and the Gospel of Philip
( 350 ). It also appeared in medieval Jewish literature, including the Targum Pseudo Jonathon.
During the 19th century, the serpent seed doctrine was revived by American religious leaders who wanted to promote white supremacy. The modern versions of the serpent seed doctrine were developed within the teachings of British Israelitism by C. A. L. Totten (1851–1908) and Russel Kelso Carter (1849–1928). Daniel Parker (1781–1844) was also responsible for reviving and promoting the doctrine among Primitive Baptists. Teachers of Christian Identity Theology, which branched off from British Israelism, preached the doctrine during the early twentieth century and promoted it within the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nation, the American Nazi Party and other White Supremacist organizations. The belief’s adherents commonly use it to justify antisemetism and racism by claiming that Jews or members of non-white races are the descendants of Cain and the Serpent, who they variably interpret to be Satan or an intelligent non-human creature which lived before Adam and Eve.
Similar to other white supremacist leaders of the era, William Branham taught the Christian Identity doctrines of Wesley A. Swift. According to this doctrine, the Serpent from the Garden of Eden mated with Eve to produce the black race. Branham re-branded Swift’s doctrine and sold it to the masses under the name “Serpent’s Seed”, carefully separating the racialimplications from Swift’s doctrine into his own “hybreeding” doctrine. According to the “hybreeding”doctrine, the black race was impure, “mongrel”, and should not mix with the white race.
William Branham admitted that he hated “colored people”, and tied this hatred to the beginning of his ministry. Branham was converted by the Ku Klux Klan’s 2nd in command, Roy E. Davis, and continued working with elite members of the KKK including Congressman William D. Upshaw. Though Branham claimed to have repented of his hatred of people with black skin, he continued to maintain close ties to these white supremacist leaders and preached the white supremacy doctrines until his death in 1965.
Raymond “Junior” Jackson and Lee Vayle, two of Branham’s partners and publicists, openly admitted that William Branham’s “Serpent Seed” doctrine was referring to people with black skin as the “evil bloodline”. Jackson preached sermons withheld from the public, such as “The Curse of Ham”, which described the “evil” through time due to the “colored people”. Lee Vayletaught that the Serpent was as “black as the ace of spades” and produced the “colored race.

Genesis 3:15

A huge problem according to Serpent Seed proponents, Cain was supposedly the seed of both the serpent and Eve, whereas all others would be the seed of Adam and Eve.
Thus, both Cain, and every other person on planet Earth would be the seed of Eve…so it does not make sense to try to imply that Cain is not the seed of the woman but only the seed of the serpent.
This verse cannot support the serpent seed doctrine.
It cannot be referring to Cain as the seed of the serpent, because it is contrasted against the seed of the woman. If the serpent seed doctrine is true, Cain is the seed of both the woman and the serpent. It doesn’t say I’ll put enmity between the Serpents seed and Adam’s seed, but Eve’s seed…
Luke 8:11–15
“Now the parable is this: The SEED is the WORD OF GOD. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the DEVIL, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the ROCK are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
If the Seed of God is the Word of God, then the seed of the adversary, or serpent, is whatever is against the Word of God. Those who walk in Sin are children of Satan. Spiritually
Those who follow the Word of God have always been at odds with those who do not follow the Word of God.
Now we also understand the nature of the seed that is in the fruit. Remember, from the beginning, like kind produces like kind.
When Adam and Even ate the fruit from the serpent, they were following the instructions of the serpent and against the instructions from God.
And ever since then the seed that followed the Word of God has been against the seed that does not follow the Word of God. That is the consistent theme from Genesis to Revelation.
This is why the bride of Yeshua is the woman.
Thus, the seed is not physical or biological in this case, but completely metaphorical. Seeds are chosen as a metaphor because seeds carry instructions in them, just like the Word of God carries instructions, or there are the false instructions of the enemy.
Whatever instructions we follow, will dictate what type of tree we become and what type of fruit we produce.

John 8:44
“Ye are of your FATHER THE DEVIL, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a MURDERER from the beginning, and abode not in the TRUTH, because there is NO TRUTH in him. When he speaketh a LIE, he speaketh of his own: for he is a LIAR, and the father of it.”
If we took this verse literal this would make the Pharisees Nephilim. He is stating that their father is the devil not in a biological sense but because they share his disobedient and deceitful nature.
Some have taught that Jews are biologically fathered by the devil because of this verse, just like Cain supposedly was.
Those of the good seed follow the Word of God and thus God is their Father.
And those who walk in Sin, follow the adversary, and thus the devil is their father.
This is a spiritual understanding, and not literal. It must be, for the Messiah recognized that the Jews are indeed of the lineage of Abraham, not the serpent. He said it Himself just a few verses earlier:
John 8:37
I know that you are OFFSPRING of ABRAHAM;
It is a mistake to assume that because one is referred to as a child of the devil that it is biological in nature…the reality is that it is spiritual in nature.
And this was the same for Cain…he was not a physical child of the serpent, but a spiritual child.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the SONS OF GOD, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. They don’t see it as Spiritual sons of Satan, they see Physical sons.

This is not talking about biological lineage, it is comparing that those who practice a sin such as murder, which this passage is talking about, are doing the works of Satan, evil. Cain’s actions are rooted in jealousy, hatred, rebellion, and disobedience, therefore Cain was doing the will of Satan.

To believe Beguile means anything other than deceive this would mean that God instructed Adam he can have sex with any tree in the garden except one.
There is a Hebrew word for seduced and that’s not what is used in Genesis 3:15 but we do see it in Ezekiel 13:10

In the chapter before we see what FRUIT is being spoken of and this is 7 years prior to Eve’s creation.
Genesis 2:8–9
“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And OUT OF THE GROUND made the LORD God to grow EVERY TREE that is pleasant to the sight, and GOOD FOR FOOD; the TREE OF LIFE also in the MIDST of the GARDEN, and the TREE of KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL.”
We see that this tree came out of the ground. Trees bear fruit as well. Contextually this is the literal application of tree and fruit. We know that the bible uses fruit as an allegory for offspring, contextually this verse has a literal meaning of the fruit is the offspring of the tree. It says every tree in these verses came from the ground. Do you apply fruit as the offspring of a human if the context literally tells us it is of a tree? Trees conceive fruit.
If the serpent giving the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil means sex with the serpent, what does it mean when Yah initially gave Adam and Eve the fruit from the tree of life?
Genesis 3:2–6
“And the woman said unto the serpent, We may EAT of the FRUIT of the TREES of the GARDEN: but of the FRUIT of the TREE which is in the MIDST OF THE GARDEN, God hath said, Ye shall NOT EAT of it, neither shall ye TOUCH IT, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing GOOD and EVIL. And when the woman saw that the tree was GOOD FOR FOOD, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one WISE, she took of the fruit thereof, and did EAT, and gave also unto her husband with her; and HE DID EAT.”
She took fruit of the tree that was created prior to her being created.
Adam ate from the fruit as well. Was Adam a homosexual? Or the literal fruit from the tree?
Genesis 3:7–8
“And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves APRONS. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the TREES of the GARDEN.”
So according to this theory they had just had sex but didn’t realize they were naked until after?
Did they hide themselves among something other than literal trees?
Eating is eating and food is food. Fruit from a tree is food from a tree.
You have to redefine all these words to make this theory true.
Revelation 2:7
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to EAT of the TREE OF LIFE, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”
Matthew 7:15–20
“Beware of FALSE PROPHETS, which come to you in SHEEPS CLOTHING, but inwardly they are ravening WOLVES. Ye shall know them by their FRUITS. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? We can clearly see that in Scripture, fruit does not mean sexual relations, but instead it means obedience or disobedience.
Otherwise we would have to believe that the one who has good sexual relations is the one who lives, but the one who has bad sexual relations is the one who is thrown into the fire.

Genesis 4:1
“And ADAM KNEW EVE his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have GOTTEN A MAN FROM THE LORD.”
Genesis 4:2
“And she AGAIN bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a KEEPER OF SHEEP, but Cain was a TILLER OF THE GROUND.”
Eve did NOT have sex with the Serpent producing the Jewish race. They descended from Shem, Noah’s second son, who is traced back to Seth and NOT Cain. And they also say if they are black they are from the serpent, once again Ham was one of Noah’s sons.

According to the theory, this was made possible through the process of heteropaternal superfecundation where the mother ovulates more than one egg and has more than one partner during her fertile period.
One egg is fertilized with sperm from one partner, and the other egg from sperm of another partner.
Hence, it is contended that Cain was the son (or seed) of the serpent and Abel was the son of Adam.
However, in verse two we have a Hebrew word that means “and again.” Thus, what happened again was the same thing that occurred in verse one.
So in both instances, for both Cain and Abel, Adam “knew” Eve and bore a child. The birth of Cain was the result of “knowing” Adam.
Genesis 4:1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain,
To know your wife in such context, means “intimate relations” and in this case, the result of Adam “knowing” Eve, they conceived Cain.

As we can clearly see, it was Adam who knew Eve and thus conceived Cain…not the serpent who knew Eve and conceived Cain.

It is also often noted that Cain’s lineage is ignored in scripture. This is inferred to mean that Cain was not human and his lineage is that of the serpent. This is what’s called a logical fallacy.
The reality is that Cain’s lineage is not mentioned because Cain’s lineage never survived the flood and thus his lineage is irrelevant.
Abel is not mentioned either, neither is any of their other children. We only get Cain, Abel, and Seth.
Genesis 5:4
“Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had OTHER SONS and DAUGHTERS.”
Jubilees 4:10
“And Adam knew Eve his wife and she bare yet NINE SONS.”
2 Peter 3:9 says that God wants everyone to be saved, not “everyone but the children of Cain.” Nowhere in Scripture is anyone identified as a “Kenite” or condemned based on being from Cain’s lineage. Never are we warned about such people by the New Testament writers.
Also, there is the question of how or why such persons survived the flood. The doctrine supposes that original sin was sexual, but cannot explain why the whole remainder of the Bible lays out a worldview where the original sin was disobedience, not sexuality.
If Cain was indeed the devil’s son and by default excluded from salvation, then why would God say this in Genesis 4:6-7?

“And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
Yah himself acknowledges that Cain had potential of being accepted, but Cain chose the wrong path. Cain was not of some non-human race spawned by the serpent, but simply a human that chose ways contrary to Yah.

1st Enoch tells us that all the watcher angels who mated with women were locked up in Tartarus until their day of judgement. Would Satan receive different punishment and be able to be free until that time?

The Jerusalem Targum, does not explicitly state that Cain and Abel were twins, but some rabbinic interpretations and traditions, including those found in Genesis Rabbah, suggest they were, along with twin sisters, to explain the brevity of the biblical text.
The “Pseudo Jonathon” Genesis account of Cain and Abel’s birth is concise, stating that Eve “bore a son, and she called his name Cain, saying, ‘I have gotten a man by the help of the Lord.’ And she bore also another son, and she called his name Abel”.
Rabbinic Interpretations:
Some rabbinic traditions, like those found in Genesis Rabbah, interpret this passage as implying that Cain and Abel were twins, with Eve bearing Cain and his twin sister, and then Abel and his two twin sisters.

British Israelism is a theory of a master race similar to the Aryan supremacy propaganda of Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. But unlike the Nazi ideology, British Israelists claim their theory finds support in the Bible and is, therefore, God’s own revelation. One of its first proponents was a mentally insane former British Navy lieutenant named Richard Brothers, who was ultimately sent to an asylum. He was true to the form of religious fanatics and his movement was strikingly parallel with Joseph Smith and the Mormons. After that, the idea was picked up by John Wilson in his book “Our Israelitish Origins”.
The movement made its way to the United States, where its most prominent spokesperson was Herbert W. Armstrong, who wrote The United States and Britain in Prophecy. His now-defunct Worldwide Church of God has since abandoned his racial theories.
The British Israelite movement, which claimed that the British people are descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, often incorporated heraldry, using symbols like the Twelve Tribes of Israel to visually represent their identity and beliefs.

He does not want you trying to mix cattle with other species, or any animals of different species. But just as God does not want you to mix different species, He does not want you – a believer – to be mingled with an unbeliever. He does not want light and darkness, righteousness and unrighteousness, the God-fearing and the God-hating, to be mixed together.
Trying to cross a watermelon and an apricot doesn’t work. Trying to cross a cow with a camel doesn’t work. But mixing two very close species produces an offspring that has different traits than its parents. They may be better or worse than the parents, but they are almost always different. For thousands of years now, gardeners have been practicing horticultural selection to produce new and better plants.
Take, for instance, the cruciferous vegetables. This group of vegetables includes cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, collards, broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts, just to name a few. ALL of these varieties of this one species came from one type of plant – wild cabbage.
Crossbreeding plants and animals was a pagan practice. By mixing certain seeds or animals together, they believed that their harvests would be more bountiful the next year. But the pagans were not after better genetics. They were after better MAGIC. They did not plant crops together because they wanted to combine the traits or produce a better plant. They planted them together because this plant was the plant of Ba’al, and this plant was the plant of Astarte, and when you planted them together their energy warded off bad luck, or created a good vibe that led to increased fertility and prosperity.
